UL’s Sustainable Chemistry and Supply Chain Management Services UL has been a contributor to the ZDHC Roadmap to Zero Programme since 2017, supporting a vision of widespread implementation of sustainable chemistry and best practices in the textile, leather and footwear industries to protect consumers, workers and the environment.

UL experts and the global network of high-tech laboratories support textile and leather companies in implementing a chemical management strategy through:

Wastewater and sludge analysis in connection with the ZDHC Gateway — Wastewater Module. UL has laboratories in Europe, Africa and Asia that are provisionally accepted by ZDHC for this service. Level 1 certification to ZDHC Manufacturing Restricted Substances List (ZDHC MRSL) helps demonstrate that chemical formulations used in a product’s manufacture do not contain any restricted ZDHC MRSL banned substances Education on chemical management and wastewater topics. UL presents official ZDHC trainings in live classrooms or via online webinars to fashion and luxury brands and their global supply chains in different languages.
Advisory services to implement good practices, think about corrective and preventive actions that prevent management issues, avoid nonconformity with the MRSL and help reduce risks and accidents in the workplace UL has collaborated with UNIDO and ZDHC under the SwitchMed Program, an initiative funded by the European Union, to promote a circular economy in the Mediterranean by changing the way goods and services are produced and consumed.

Industry manufacturers, international brands operating in Egypt, Tunisia and Morocco, joined a series of ZDHC official trainings presented by UL to deepen their knowledge about sustainable chemical management, environmental impact, mitigation measures and wastewater quality. After this first phase, we supporter them to implement a chemical management system in their factories.

Zhejiang FangYuan Test group Co., Ltd. was established in 2002. It is the first leading joint-stock Testing & Inspection Company in national quality inspection system, and is an impartial third party of organization with independent legal personality. The registered capital of the group is 30 million RMB, the assets of testing equipment exceed 300 million RMB, and the area of the testing laboratory exceeds 63,000 square meters. At present, the group has a total of more than 600 technical personnel, with a master's degree or above accounting for 30%. The group company has ten inspection departments (leather product inspection department, textile product inspection department, food and chemical packaging product inspection institute, etc.), and also attached the National Chemical Building Materials Quality Supervision and Inspection Center, the National Leather Quality Supervision and Inspection Center (Zhejiang) There are five provincial-level quality inspection centers, including six national-level quality inspection centers including Zhejiang Province, and Zhejiang Province's electric vehicle product quality inspection center. The group provides customers with various types of products (commodities), including: engineering inspection, testing, appraisal, quality evaluation, safety evaluation business; development, transfer, consulting, and service of various testing and application technologies; product certification inspection, international certification inspection and Consulting, training services.
